Milford Public Library 2020 March Program Calendar

March News at the Library!

We continue the year long commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment. The Library, and The Milford CT Suffrage Centennial Commmittee, are hosting actor Sheryl Faye as Susan B. Anthony. This performance includes a multi-media component and dramatizes the life of one of the most famous women's rights activists. The performance will be held on Sunday, March 1 at 2:00pm.  The library will be open ONLY for the performance.

The Library is always a resource for career guidance and job search assistance.  We have online resources such as RefUSA and JobNow, as well as computer skills classes and employment workshops.  This month we are hosting the Career Coach, a fully functional job career center whose staff can help with job searching, resume writing, interview techniques and more!  Thursday, March 26, 10:00am-12:00pm; 1:00pm-3:00pm. Call 203-783-3292 to make an appointmant; drop-ins are also welcome.

We are pleased to partner with the Milford Elks Club and the Friends of the Milford Library to bring our youngest readers, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library!  Launched by country music star Dolly Parton and the Dollywood Foundation, the Imagination Library fosters a love of reading among preschool children by providing them with a free hardcover book every month from birth to age 5. Milford families with children  under the age of 5 can register at our kick-off event on Saturday,  March 21 from 10:30am-2:30pm (or until all spots are filled).

Teen Gamers get ready! The Video Game Truck from Rolling Video Games of New England is coming to the library on April 7.  This program is for students in Grades 6-12 and space is limited.  Registration begins on  March 9.  Call 203-783-3292 to reserve your spot!
