December News at the Library!
The holiday season is in full swing here at the Library! We are bringing back some of our favorite December programs - Colin Lane performs A Child's Christmas in Wales on December 8, and The Coastal Chordsmen barbershop chorus will perform on December 10. The Children's Department hosts a Winter Scavenger Hunt on December 11 (early school dismissal day) and in our Brain Station Maker Space, learn how to make LED Greeting cards on December 21. More information on all these programs can be found on our calendar.
The Friends of the Library are also in holiday mode. This year they are hosting a gently used jewelry sale, the Baubles, Bangles, Bling Bazaar! Browse a wonderful collection of bracelets, earrings, necklaces, pins and rings - perfect for gift giving. Additionally, their ongoing used book sale in the lower lobby will be featuring a variety of holiday themed books this month. Proceeds from these events are used to fund all library programs.We are so grateful to our Friends for their support - a gift membership to the Friends would make a wonderful stocking stuffer!
We are pleased to announce that our library consortium, Bibliomation, has released a new app to access our catalog! The Acorn Catalog app lets you search for items in any Bibliomation library, view your account, place holds and renew your items. The developer is still working on upgrades and additional features, so let us know what you think! To download the free app (Acorn Catalog), go to the Google Play or iOS Apple Store.
