Pets and Associations
- Issues pertaining to pets at properties belonging to an association such as but not limited to condos, private beaches (up to the high water mark), and other shared common areas/facilities, should be made to the designated contact person of that specific association.
- Associations typically have rules and regulations that members are required to follow and would trump basic city ordinances directed at loose pets while on the property administered by the association.
- Incidents such as animal-on-animal bites or animal-on-people bites should be made directly to Animal Control/Milford Police Department for reporting and rabies verification.
- Some associations also have more detailed rules such as specific dog breeds allowed on association property or rules pertaining to feeding feral cats.
- It is important to understand your associations specific rules before adopting a pet.
