Fire Marshal's Office - Annual Reports

Annual Reports are our way of self-evaluating our comprehensive approach to fire prevention and safety.  Through fire code enforcement, fire safety education, and fire investigation, we continually strive to reduce the loss associated with fire incidents.  Our Annual Reports provide a detailed analysis of both our successes and our failures, while helping to provide a vision and direction for future improvement!

Fire Prevention

Our priority approach to fire safety begins with a detailed analysis of all new commercial building design.  During the design review phase, all projects are thoroughly reviewed to ensure compliance with all applicable codes & standards.  All new construction is then inspected throughout the construction process.  Finally, buildings are only approved for occupancy after they have been deemed fire and building code compliant.

We continue to ensure the future safety of building occupants with our annual inspection schedule.  All commercial buildings are inspected on a recurring cycle based on Connecticut State Regulations.  The ongoing fire code inspection process ensures that buildings remain safe from hazards at all times.

We also provide public safety education to all ages.  We provide education programs to kindergarten students, senior citizens, and employees of various businesses throughout our community.  By educating citizens to various fire and safety hazards, we can greatly reduce future losses.

Senior PubEd

This three-phased approach to comprehensive fire prevention provides us with the best opportunity to keep our community safe.  We continue to work tirelessly to improve the manner in which we provide services to our community.
