Snow Emergency Declaration - January 6

A community update from Mayor Blake:

Winter weather alerts have been posted for our area with a forecast of snow starting late this evening and continuing through Friday. With heavy snow accumulation expected, driving conditions will be dangerous. Residents are asked to stay off public roads and limit travel.

As the City prepares for this storm, a snow emergency has been declared. Off-street parking should be utilized whenever possible and in areas where it is necessary to park in the road, Alternate Side of the Street Parking will be in effect beginning at 8:00pm tonight, January 6th, and continuing until 8:00pm on Friday, January 7th.

Due to the winter storm, there is a change to this week’s garbage/recycling pickup schedule. Garbage/recycling pickup for Friday, January 7th has been rescheduled to Saturday, January 8th. Impacted residents are asked to place totes at the curb for pickup on Saturday.

Finally, residents are reminded that they are responsible for shoveling snow and ice from their sidewalks and property, including fire hydrants.

Thank you and best wishes for a safe and healthy New Year.
