2022 Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

The South Central Regional Council of Governments (SCRCOG) is developing an update to the Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan for 15 municipalities in South Central Connecticut. The purpose of the plan is to provide the region with a comprehensive examination of all natural hazards affecting the area and help reduce the South Central Region’s vulnerability to natural hazards and ease the burden of keeping communities safe and resilient. The plan is required to be updated every five years.

Prior to State and FEMA review, the public is encouraged to review and comment on the draft plan. The plan identifies and prioritizes actions each of the 15 SCRCOG municipalities may take to mitigate the risks of natural hazards and climate change. The plan is available for review from February 27, 2023 – March 13, 2023.
