Minute with the Mayor - Green Halloween

Green Halloween, hosted by Milford Recycles, encourages the use of recyclable grocery bags and discourages single-use plastic which jeopardizes the healthy ecosystem we strive for in Milford and the world. The Board of Alderman unanimously and with the support of area grocers, ShopRite, Stop & Shop and Adams Hometown Market, passed a resolution to reduce the use of plastic bags. The focus of this resolution and its efforts is to increase the reuse, recycling, outreach and public awareness of responsible and sustainable practices specifically regarding single-use plastic bags and how to properly recycle. Our partners at ShopRite, Adams Hometown Markets and Stop & Shop will offer FREE reusable grocery bags rather than single-use the entire week of Oct. 27-November 3.
