CONGRATULATIONS to

Deirdre Thomas

in the Milford Public Library

for being selected as Employee of the Month for February 2019.

As the recipients of the award for the Mayor’s Employee of the Month Program, please join us in extending warm congratulations to Deirdre in receiving this recognition.  After a review of all of the nominations the Selection Committee chose her as the winners for her helpful nature, teamwork, positive attitude and ability to build strong positive relationships.

Deirdre began her employment with the City of Milford on March 17, 2014. Deirdre’s official responsibilities entail handling all aspects of office administration.  She manages billing and payment processing, the library internal ledgers and staff employment records.  If a special order is needed for the Library, Deirdre leaves no stone unturned to find both the product and the best price.  She manages the monthly bookings for the Library’s gallery and art space, fielding all questions from those wanting to use the displays and filling out the paperwork.

An important aspect of Deirdre’s responsibilities is as a Passport Acceptance Agent.  This position requires her to keep abreast of any federal changes to the passport program.  Deirdre is the perfect candidate for this position as it requires extreme attention to details.  With her unique ability to remember details, she has earned the title of proofreader in chief. All monthly program listings are reviewed by her for an assurance that nothing will be omitted or listed incorrectly.

With Deirdre’s helpful nature, and unruffled, steady demeanor she is an invaluable asset to the Library staff and patrons.  She has built respectful relationships throughout the city.  Deirdre is a true community builder and ambassador for city events.  She is the 411 for what is happening in the city.  She knows about and attends many city functions on her own time and keeps the Library staff apprised of activities they should know about.  Deirdre performs her daily tasks with a quiet confidence and in a professional manner.  She is always ready to lend a hand to assist her co-workers and library patrons.  She is the epitome of a great employee.  These are just a few of the many reasons the Mayor extends his sincere congratulations and appreciation to Deirdre.

Again, congratulations to Deirdre!
