Fireplace Safety Announcement

Avoid Winter Season Fires!

With the Winter season comes cold weather.  When the weather turns cold many families turn to supplemental heating appliances like fireplaces and wood burning stoves.  While these appliances provide a great source of warmth and ambience, they also pose a serious risk to you and your family!  The most common cause of winter fires is the careless disposal of the fireplace/wood stove ashes.  These ashes can remain a source of fire ignition long after the fire has gone out.

ALWAYS PLACE YOUR ASHES IN A METAL BUCKET!

Once in the metal container, place them outside of your home, at least twenty feet from your house, or any other combustible surface.

Metal ash buckets are available at all your local home improvement stores and usually cost less than $20!
