The City of Milford has implemented a state-of-the-art citywide notification system to alert citizens about emergencies and other community news. The Milford Alerts notification system, operated in partnership with Everbridge, enables the City to provide essential information quickly and for a variety of situations, such as severe weather, fires, floods, unexpected road closures, or evacuation of buildings or neighborhoods.
These notifications can be sent to a variety of devices such as home phone, work phone, cell phone, text messaging devices, e-mail and more. You choose what devices you are contacted on and in what order you would like to be contacted.
In addition to traditional emergency alerts, the system also allows you to sign up to receive a variety of other important community alerts and informational bulletins that interest you. For more information about the new Milford Alerts system, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions Page.
What is the Milford Alerts Citywide Notification System?
This service allows you to sign up to get alerts on your cell phone, work phone, text message, e-mail, home phone, and more. You can also choose the locations you want to be contacted about.
You can receive notifications about emergencies that may affect your home, your workplace, your child's school, etc. as long as those locations are within the boundaries of the City of Milford.
You may also choose to receive non-emergency alerts or informational bulletins.
Emergency Alerts:
The process begins when the City of Milford issues an Emergency Alert about a potential safety hazard or concern. Messages will be sent to all standard voice and text communication devices, including land line phones, mobile phones, e-mail, and more. If you do not confirm receipt of the message, the system will try to reach your second number or e-mail address based our your profile settings.
Please note: The system will continue trying to contact you until it receives confirmation from you.
Community Alerts:
If you are interested in Community Alerts, you may wish to receive these messages differently than emergency alerts. With Milford Alerts, you have the ability to select the delivery method(s) that work best for you. You also have the power to personalize; you can choose which alerts you are interested in receiving, and decline the rest. You pick where, you pick how, you pick what!
