TRAINING UNIT
The Training Unit is responsible for all the training needs of the Department and operates a
state-certified recruit officer-training academy.
Our recruit officer academy runs for approximately seven months.
Attendees of the academy come from many Departments throughout the State Of Connecticut.
During their training, the recruit officer learns a myriad of skills and knowledge such as:
search and seizure
constitutional law
patrol techniques
defensive tactics
motor vehicle law
domestic violence
sexual assault
juvenile law
narcotics investigation
