February 2014 Newsletter

Welcome to the Milford Public Library!

The holidays are behind us, and it seems like the cold weather has settled in.  What's better on a cold, snowy evening than a great book!  Come in and check out our shelves full of new fiction and non-fiction, or browse the stacks for an old favorite. If you need some inspiration, please be sure to look at our new book lists. If you're the type who loves to talk about what you're reading, stop by one of our book groups; information is on the library calendar.

We have lots of great programs this month! Being the month of valentines, we are offering an origami hearts craft program (Feb. 6), local author Joan Wolf will be the special guest at our Romance Book Club (Feb. 13), and Connecticut's premier dating coach, Ronnie Ryan, will be offering Tips to Dating after 40 (Feb. 10)!

The Children's Department is also busy.  February 1 is national Take Your Child to the Library Dayl  Come help us celebrate as we watch Sparky's Puppets present Stories from Snowy Lands. For our young scientists, we have a program on the science of chilly weather, and for grade school students we begin preparing for the upcoming Milford Invention Convention. Check our calendar or call the Children's Department (203-783-3312) for more information.

Don't Miss Out...

Please Note:

Many of our online resources do require you to have a Milford Public Library card for access. If you are a  Milford resident and don't yet have one, please stop by the Library to get started.
