Public Fingerprinting Services
The Milford Police Department provides public fingerprinting to residents of Milford and any out of town resident seeking employment with the City of Milford. Public fingerprinting is primarily performed for employment, business applications, adoptions, licensing, and other permits so designated. Fingerprinting is not available for immigration purposes.

1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Fingerprinting Processing Fees
As of October 1, 2012, the Milford Police Department charges a $10.00 fee for fingerprinting services. Payment must be made and valid identification provided to the Records Clerk before your fingerprints are taken.
Payment must be made in the form of U. S. Currency (exact change only or money order). If one is paying by money order it must be payable to: Milford Police Department or City of Milford. Personal checks, credit, and or debit cards are not acceptable means of payment.
Payment is made at our Records Division and a receipt will be provided upon payment. Please note that the fingerprint processing fee includes only the cost of taking your fingerprints, additional fees may be charged by the Milford Police Department for criminal background clearances and other permit processes.
*Fingerprinting fees for the Milford Housing Authority are exempt.
**The Milford Police Department will waive any fee provided for when a person requesting fingerprint services is an indigent individual (as defined in CGS. 17a-495)
Fingerprinting Documentation Required
You must bring two valid identifications with you before processing begins.
Valid identification is a current Connecticut Driver’s License or State issued Identification Card. Other current State driver’s licenses and issued identification cards may be accepted.
A second proof of identification can be in the form of a valid Social Security Card, birth certificate (original copy), passport or military ID.
For those persons who were born outside of the United States,
You MUST provide a third piece of identification.
If you are now a United States citizen,
You must present proof of citizenship by presenting one of the following documents:
1) Naturalization papers
2) U. S. passport.
If you have not yet become a citizen,
You MUST present an Employment Authorization Card or a Resident Alien Card.
Fingerprinting Service Location
The Milford Police Department is located at 430 Boston Post Road, Milford, CT 06460.
Fingerprinting is conducted in the Licensing Office located in the main lobby of police headquarters.
Services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, but only if trained staff are available.
Board of Education
If you are being fingerprinted for the purposes of employment with the Milford Board of Education,
You must call (203)877-1465 in advance to schedule an appointment.
The hours of fingerprinting for the Board of Education vary from that of the licensing unit.
