The Milford Youth and Family Services/Department of Human Services Social Expedition Program is designed to engage youth between the ages of 9 – 12 in a series of cultural and educational experiences.
The primary focus of this program is to provide young people with engaging activities, to promote an interest in learning, to support appropriate social skills, and to encourage positive family interactions.
The expedition group meets monthly over the course of the school year. Our intention is to schedule the trips on school closure days so that we can also support the working parent. The children will travel to a variety of destinations including museums, environmental facilities, theaters and wild life centers. In addition to the excursions, there will be in-house activities scheduled at the Auditorium of The Academy including parents and siblings and focusing on strengthening familial bonds.
