Guidelines for Garbage Collection
Garbage cans must be placed at the curbside by 6:00 a.m. on the morning of your collection. Cans must be no larger than a 42 gallons in capacity and cannot exceed 60 lbs in weight. They must have a removable lid. No hinged lids. The cans or bags must not be blocked by a vehicle. The contents must consist of kitchen and bathroom type garbage only. No recycling, yard debris or bulk items may be mixed in. All garbage must be bagged. No loose garbage will be accepted.
If you do not know the scheduled day of your pickup, please contact the Public Works office at (203) 783-3265 with your street address and the office staff will assist you.
